Douglas Budget - December 25, 1986Memorial services for Colista B. Combs Clements, 78, were held Friday, Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. at the Converse Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jon Laughlin of the First United Methodist Church officiating.
Mrs. Clements died Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the Converse County Memorial Hospital in Douglas following a short illness.
Mrs. Clements was born Nov. 11, 1908 in Mahaska County, Iowa to Myrtle Doyle and Lester Bicknell. Her father died in 1911, and she and her mother moved to North Dakota. They lived there until moving to Wyoming in 1916, homesteading near Bill, north of Douglas. She was reared and educated in Douglas, graduating from the Douglas High School.
In July, 1926 she married Eugene Combs in Douglas, and they ranched north of Douglas. To this union, one son, Raymor, was born. Eugene died in April, 1955.
In 1959 she married Orley Clements, and they moved to Elmwood, Neb. Mr. Clements died in 1969, and she lived there until 1974 at which time she moved back to Douglas and resided here until the time of her death.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary and the Republican Women's Club.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Lucille Combs, of Douglas; two granddaughters, Kathleen Lore of Douglas and Bridget Paich of Denver, Colo.; and three great grandchildren, Michaela and Brendan Lore of Douglas; Alexis Kelly Paich of Denver; step-daughter Norma Leman of Florida and Boyd Clements of Elmwood, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, and her son, Raymor, in 1961.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Douglas, Oral Roberts University or the Converse County Cancer Fund.
The Converse Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
