Unknown - November 15, 1951Last rites for Mrs. Ida Chambers, 87, pioneer resident of Converse county, who died Monday at Memorial hospital, were held yesterday morning at St. James Catholic church, with Fr. Bernadine Singleton officiating. Internment was in Douglas Park cemetery.
Mrs. Chambers had been a resident of this community for more than 48 years. She was born Jan. 20, 1864, at Iowa Point, Kan., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Ball. Shortly after the turn of the century, she moved with her husband to Converse county and had made her home here ever since. Mr. Chambers preceded her in death several years ago.
Survivors include a daughter Mrs. E. D. George of Douglas, two sons, Clay W. of Douglas and F.E. Chambers of Ogden, Utah and several grandchildren. Three children preceded her in death.
A rosary service was held Tuesday evening at Stark's chapel.
