Mr. Clausen's sudden death came as a grievous surprise to his neighbors and friends, most of whom were unaware that he had been ailing. He suffered a heart attack Sunday morning at the ranch and was brought to the hospital where he died about 10:40 o'clock that night. It is learned that he had been suffering from heart trouble the past year.
Born in Denmark on April 30, 1885, he came to the United States at the age of 22 years. He was a resident of Nebraska for a number of years and then came west into Wyoming. In 1917 he took up a homestead north of Douglas, which had been his home ever since.
He married Nellie Matilda Anderson of Douglas on January 7, 1919, and to this union four sons and three daughters were born.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife; his four sons, Francis, James Newton and Arthur, and three daughters, Clara, Esther and Marie. Francis, who is in the navy stationed at Terminal, Calif., is here for the funeral.
