Unknown - June 22, 1967Funeral services were held at Stark Funeral Home Tuesday, June 20, 1967, at 2 p.m. for Nellie M. Clausen, who died at the Converse County Memorial Hospital June _____ following a stroke suffered a few days before. Rev. Neil Warner officiated.
Nellie M. Clausen was born at Stromsberg, Neb., Nov. 9, 1890. She was one of nine children born to Clara and Gustaf Anderson.
She came to Wyoming in 1917 and homesteaded north of Douglas, which has been her home the past 50 years. She was truly a pioneer.
She was united in marriage with Hans Peter Clausen on Jan. 7, 1918. To this union seven children were born. Surviving are four sons, Francis and James of Douglas, Newton of Riverton and Albert of The Dalles, Ore.; two daughters, Esther Schnoor of Casper and Marie Jones of Houston, Mo., and 21 grandchildren. One daughter, Clara, preceded her in death.
Other survivors are a brother, Frank Anderson of Stromsberg, and three sisters, Jennie Anderson of Stromsberg, Ida Hedman of Denver, and Hilda Anderson of Portland, Ore.
She was baptized into the Free Evangelical Church as a young girl and took an active part in church work. In later years she attended church whenever she could.
Nellie Clausen was a friend to all and never hesitated to do what she could to help someone in need.
Active pallbearers were Raymond Baker, Lee Fowler, Carl Lundberg, Gordon Olds, Irving Carlson and Carl Engdahl. Honorary pallbearers were Jess Fink, Tom Meinser, Wes Wiker, Tom Robinson, Leonard Shaw, Charles Bauman and T.C. Daniels.
