Douglas Budget - May 25, 1978Katherine Simpson Crum Cook was born July 28, 1890 in Marquette, Michigan the daughter of Lillie Bell and Frank Thomas Crum. When a year old, the family moved to Sioux City, Iowa, where she was reared and schooled. On December 15, 1909 she was married to Louis Cook of Douglas.
They made their home on Mr. Cook's ranch, north-east of Douglas for many years. Four children were born to them; Louis Craig, Frank Thomas (Tom), Ralph D. Douglas, and Catherine June.
Mr. Cook passed on in 1948, Louis Craig in 1953 and Frank Thomas in 1971. Mrs. Cook was a life member of the United Methodist Church, a 50 year member and past matron of Woodbine Chapter O.E.S. No. 18. Life member of Wyoming Pioneer Association, Royal Neighbor Lodge, Republican Women's Club, an avid reader, keeping up on World's news.
She leaves her son Ralph, Worland, Catherine McColl, LaMirade, Calif. Grand children Jo Ellen Deveraux, Worland, Craig White, Corvallis, Ore.; Danise McKennett, Gresham, Ore. Tony, Tanya and Courtney Deveraux, Worland, great grandchildren. Nephews, Myron Hoag, Pasadena, Calif., and Fred Hoag Redwood City, Calif. Nieces Margaret Michie Bryan, Mary Michie Logasa, both of Honolulu, Hawaii.
