William A. Cole Dies Early
Thursday Of Heart Attack Masonic Funeral Services Held Sunday Afternoon; Burial At Denver
Unknown - September 19, 1946Death as the result of a heart attack claimed the life early Thursday morning of William A. Cole, 64, a resident of Douglas since 1923.
Mr. Cole passed away at his home on north Fourth street shortly after midnight. He had worked all day Wednesday at the LeBar Motor Co., where he had been bookkeeper since coming here 23 years ago. Wednesday evening about 10:00 o'clock he became ill, suffering the fatal attack about 12:30 o'clock.
William Allen Cole was born Aug. 25, 1882 at Fort Collins, Colo., where he lived until reaching manhood. From there he came to Cheyenne where he resided until moving to Douglas in 1923 to take over the bookkeeping duties at the LeBar garage.
On Jan. 9, 1916 he was married to Miss Mae Rosenstock. One son, William, Jr., was born to this union.
Only a week ago Sunday Mr. Cole attended a family reunion of the family in Laramie.
Up until the past few years Mr. Cole was very active in Ashlar Lodge No. 10 A.F. & A.M.
Left to mourn his passing are his widow; his son, William, Jr., of Laramie; two grandchildren, Evelyn Jean and William Allan, III; one brother, Robert of Boulder, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. John H. Baxter of Laramie and Mrs. Loren Gale of Denver.
Masonic funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Temple here, with Rev. Louis Gale of the Congregational church assisting.
Pallbearers were Everett Teter, William Gentle, Alvin Nauman, Cari LeBar, John LeBar and Vernon Nauman.
Following the services the body was shipped to Denver for interment there in Fairmont Cemetery.
