Douglas Budget - March 23, 1967Funeral services were held at Stark's Chapel Saturday morning, March 18, 1967, for Raymond L. Cooper, who died at the Ivenson Memorial Hospital at Laramie March 16, 1967. Rev. Joseph Batten officiated.
Mr. Cooper was born at Esterbrook September 3, 1892, the son of pioneer parents, Jennie Newell and Lyman Cooper. He spent his boyhood in that area and attended school at Esterbrook.
He married Ethel Morton in Douglas in 1912. One son, LeRoy B., was born to this union. His wife preceded him in death.
Mr. Cooper engaged in the ranching business and later was a car sales manager in Colorado and at Rock River, Wyo. He belonged to the Episcopal church.
Survivors include his wife, Freda Newell Cooper of Rock River; his son, LeRoy Cooper of Casper; two step-daughters, Gladys White and Neva Marshall, and a step-son, Jim Newell.
Pallbearers were Oscar Olson of Laramie; Arthur and Russell Fawcett; Dale Ballard; Guy Newell, Jr.; and Floyd Bartling.
