Douglas Budget - January 17, 1963Mrs. Lillie Belle Crum was born on September 3, 1863 in Shelby County, Kentucky, during the Civil War between the North and South. She was the eldest child of Mary and William Simpson.
Lillie Belle Simpson grew to womanhood in Kentucky, and later was married to Frank Thomas Crum, also of Kentucky.
Later the couple moved up North and made their home in Sioux City, Iowa, where Mr. Crum was associated with the Sioux City Journal for many years.
After Mr. Crum's death in 1922, Mrs. Crum came to Wyoming to live with her daughter, Mrs. Katherine Cook. She passed away on January 10, 1963, at the age of 99 years.
The Reverend Edgar Hoffman of the First Methodist Church officiated at the service.
Her survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Lillian E. Hoag of Sierra Madre, Calif.; Mrs. Tena C. Michie of Casper, Wyo., and Mrs. Katherine Cook of Douglas, Wyo.; seven grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
The pall bearers were Emil Rohlff, Gene Payne, Sr., Geo. Wills, Mort Peters, Robert Gentle and Scott Layton. Burial was in Douglas Park cemetery.
