Car Accident Claims Life of
Unknown - May 18, 1961Raymor Combs, 34, prominent young rancher of the Douglas community, died in the Cheyenne hospital early last Thursday morning of injuries received in a car accident on the highway north of Cheyenne.
Mr. Combs and family were enroute home late last Wednesday night. The car went out of control, left the highway, and rolled several times. A Ringsby truck driver, who witnessed the accident, stopped and summoned aid.
Mrs. Combs and their older daughter were injured, while the younger little girl escaped being hurt.
Mr. Combs was a graduate of the Douglas schools and he served two years with the U.S. Army in Alaska. Later he was employed by the Wyoming Livestock and Sanitary Board for several years. Shortly after he and Lucille Kelly of Omaha were married he resigned from the state so that he and Mrs. Combs could devote full time to the ranching business. After the death of his father, he assumed management of the ranch.
He was a charter member of the Converse County Young Republican League and County Chairman since it was organized.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille, and two children, and his mother, Mrs. Colista Clements of Elmwood, Neb.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the St. James Catholic Church, and interment made in the Douglas Park cemetery.
