GEORGE RENFRO CURRY
Unknown - February 15, 1968Funeral services for George Renfro Curry were held at Hughes Funeral Chapel in Yucaipa, California Feb. 7 with the Rev. Paul Jorstad of the Faith Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in Hillside Memorial Park in Redlands.
Mr. Curry died Feb. 4 after a long illness of cancer of the liver. He was 62.
Born in Douglas, he attended local schools and during and after his high school years was employed as printer apprentice at the Douglas Enterprise. He later worked for three years at the Douglas Budget before he and D.C. "Tud" Cook purchased the paper in 1938 from Thomas F. Doyle.. The men sold the Budget in 1946 and Mr. Curry moved with his family to the West Coast and he worked for a time in The Dallas, Oregon. Later they went to California where he went into the motel business. He later resumed the printing trade and at the time of his death he had worked for 3 years as printer at a Yucaipa paper, The Advertiser.
He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Bolln; daughters Nancy Worley and Mary Weins, both of Yucaipa;
