Douglas Budget - December 28, 2005No funeral services will be held at this time for Samuel D. Currie, 81, who died Dec. 26 at his home in Douglas.
A private memorial service will be held by relatives and friends later.
He was born July 30, 1924, in Shawnee, Okla., to Chesterfield and Helen (Sailsbury)Turner.
Mr. Currie served his country as a naval officer and aircraft pilot during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He then became a career intelligence officer with the Central Intelligence Agency for 23 years.
He is survived by his wife Laura P. Matschke of Douglas; daughters Carol C. and husband Joe Norfolk of Douglas and Kathryn C. Edler of Big Fork, Mont.; sister Juanita Welsh of Robstown, Texas; four grandchildren; and the mother of his daughters, Ruth Currie of Williamsburg, Va.
He as preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
A memorial to North Platte Home Health and Hospice, 130 North Ash Street, Casper 82601, would be appreciated by the family.
