Mrs. Carothers died Dec. 4 at Michael Manor.
She was born Feb. 4, 1917, in Casper to William and Blanche (Scholtterbeck) Cashel. She was reared and educated in Casper.
On April 10, 1961, she married Mathew Douglas Carothers in Casper.
The couple lived on the Willow Creek Ranch in the Hole in the Wall area for two years, then moved to the Bigby Ranch for three years, then to the Mark Davis Ranch in Midwest for two years, then to Phoenix to work for Produces Livestock for 13 years.
They moved back to Wyoming and resided in Douglas until the time of her death. Her interests included playing bingo, traveling, and being with her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband Doug of Douglas; daughters Ruth and husband Chuck Showalter of Casper and Sharon and husband Sonny Showmake of Pearsall, Texas; son Ron and wife Diane Carothers of Justin, Texas; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her oldest daughter, Juanita Deal Bernard, on July 21, 2000; a sister; and two brothers.
Memorials to Douglas Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 192, Douglas, would be appreciated by the family.
