Funeral services for James Anton Crawford, 60, were held March 17 at Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel in Douglas with Rev. Linda Wells of First United Methodist Church officiating. Military honors were accorded by the Samuel Mares American Legion Post #10.

Mr. Crawford of Douglas died March 15, 2007, at the emergency room of the Memorial Hospital of Converse County. He was born June 18, 1946, in Baker, Mont., to Roy Everett and Margaret (Grenstiner)Crawford.

He was reared and educated in Baker and graduated from Baker High School. He served in the Army during the Vietnam era from March 9, 1966, to March 8, 1972.

He moved to Wyoming following his discharge to work in the oil fields and did mechanical repair work. He also worked as a diesel mechanic, and the past three years he owned and operated J & J Repair Service in Douglas.

He is survived by his father, Roy Crawford, of Grants Pass, Ore.; mother Margaret Crawford of Billings; significant other Josephine Gibson of Douglas; Jo's children Dave Gibson of Casper and Mike Gibson and Tammy Gibson, Danny Gibson and Mark Gibson, all of Douglas; brothers Leroy Crawford of Dillon, Mont., and Royal Crawford of Florence, Mont.; sisters Lori Albertson of Billings and Jannie Coyne of Denver; and grandchildren Houston, Trae and Kyle Gibson, all of Douglas.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bud Alexander and Bob Werner.

Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel of Douglas was in charge of the arrangements.
