C.R.CAMERON DIES SATURDAY
Was Rancher of North Converse County for Past Twenty-Five Years
Douglas Budget - August 27, 1942C.R. Cameron, 76, passed away at his home in Douglas, on north Second street, early last Saturday morning. He had been ill for the past six or eight months. He was released from the hospital about three weeks ago after a stay of eleven weeks.
Funeral services were conducted at the Hofmann Chapel Monday afternoon. Rev. Glenn G. Knight of the Baptist church was in charge. Pallbearers were S.S. Call, D.W. Ballard, Grover Weiss, Joseph Rust, Peter Curtin and John Wohlford. Interment was in Douglas Park cemetery.
Charles Richard Cameron was born at Heltown, Mich., on March 11, 1866. On April 10, 1901, at Fremont, Neb., he married Mary Jane Waldron, who survives him.
The Camerons came to Converse county twenty-five years ago and settled on a homestead north of Douglas. Last spring they moved to town because of his failing health.
Mr. Cameron is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Emma Willey of Mead, Neb.
