Callis, C.C. (Unknown - July 22, 1905)

Fatal Accident

Bill Barlows Budget - July 26, 1905

While driving a trail wagon across country, on Cheyenne River, Saturday afternoon, C.C. Callis, an employee of Mr. Mart Madsen, was thrown from his seat and the vehicle ran over him. Two other men were near who saw the accident and hastened to the side of the injured man; but he was unconscious, and lived only a few minutes. The body was brought to town, and on Monday interred in Sunnyside cemetery by direction of a cousin living in Denver. The deceased had been a resident of this section but a few months; was an Englishman of good family; had traveled over all the world and served through the entire campaign of the Boer war.
