Douglas Budget - September 3, 1987Funeral services for Rosa Rebecca Castle, 84, will be held Friday, 2 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jon Laughlin officiating.
Interment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Castle died Tuesday at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper following a short illness.
She was born Jan. 21, 1903 at Paris, Ind., the daughter of Clemett V. and Masie Jane (Wilson) Baughman. Mrs. Castle lived there until the age of 12 at which time she moved to Mitchell, Neb. with her parents and finished her education.
She was married to Earl Walter Castle on Aug. 11, 1920 in Gering, Neb. They moved to Wyoming in 1922, homesteading north of Douglas.
In 1924 they moved into Douglas, then to Nebraska in 1929, and then back to Douglas in 1932 where she remained a resident until moving to the Poplar Living Center in Casper three weeks ago.
Mrs. Castle was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Douglas Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her two sons, Dean Castle of Casper and Donald James Castle of Uncasville, Conn.; three daughters, Della Smith of Casper, Kathleen Meagher of Seattle, Wash., and Luann Bentham of Florence, Mont.; one sister, Nettie Chirrick of Torrance, Calif.; 24 grandchildren; 28 great grand-children; and six great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Castle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl W. Castle, Dec. 10, 1979; three daughters, Eileen Vivian Castle, Bonnie Lucille Exley, and Betty Jane Kujawski; and three brothers.
Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Smith, David Smith, Dean Wray Exley, Rick Castle, Don Clausen, and Dennis Wyatt. A memorial to the Diabetes Foundation or to the Douglas Senior Citizens would be appreciated by the family.
