Douglas Budget - March 22, 1995Funeral services for Lois Krause Carver, 82, were held Friday, March 17, 1995, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Douglas with Reverend Merrill Lanker officiating.
Interment was at the Douglas Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Carver died Wednesday, March 15, at the Converse County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 10, 1912, in Floyd County, Iowa, to George and Kate Copp Krause.
She attended two schools in Floyd, Iowa, and moved with her parents to Crocker, Mo., at the age of 6. She graduated from high school there in 1929.
On Aug. 14, 1932, she married Scott Carver in Crocker. They moved to Douglas shortly after.
Mrs. Carver was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ where she was very active in the Women's Circle and was the church organist for several years. She also taught piano lessons and enjoyed playing bridge.
She is survived by three children, Gary Carver of Cheyenne, Kim Carver of Boise, and Dennis Carver of Kalispell, Mont.; grandchildren Steve Carver and Cindy Mossey of Cheyenne, Mindy Carver of Missoula, Mont., and Chad Carver of Kalispell, Mont.; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister.
Steve Carver, Chad Carver, Rob Mossey, Chuck Kern, H.R. Johnston, Birney Holberg and Herman Groothuis served as pall bearers.
Memorials to the Congregational United Church of Christ would be appreciated by the family.
