Douglas Budget - September 10, 1936Mrs. Sarah (Sadie Ann) Copenhaver, wife of Milton Copenhaver, died Wednesday after a long illness. Her poor health covered a period of eight years. She recently suffered a hip fracture as the result of a fall, which was the immediate cause of her death.
Sarah (Sadie Ann) A. LeFever was born at Keota, Keokuk county, Iowa, May 22, 1868, the daughter of Jackson and Susannah LeFever. She finished the high school course at Keota and taught school for a number of years. She was married to Milton Copenhaver December 20, 1892, at Keota, and after their marriage they moved to Pawnee City, Neb. In 1918 they moved to Wyoming, locating on a homestead north of Douglas. For the last six years their home has been in Douglas.
Five children were born to this union. They are Earl J., Mrs. James Stevens, Verse, Wyo., Everett T., Mrs. Robert Ramsey and Mrs. Harvey Allen. Eleven grandchildren also survive. Surviving also is a brother, John LeFever of Keota, Ia.
Mrs. Copenhaver united with the Methodist church in early life and after her marriage with the Baptist, of which she was a devout member until illness prevented her regular attendance at church services. She was a member of the Knights and Ladies of Security lodge.
Funeral services will be held at the Baptist church Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
