Douglas Budget - June 11, 1981Robert Lee Campbell, 78, died Friday, May 22, 1981 at the Laramie County Memorial Hospital in Cheyenne.
Robert, the son of John and Maude Crosby Campbell, was born Feb. 11, 1903 in Ohio, and spent his childhood years there. As a young man he was employed in the coal mines in Ohio. He moved to Hanna to work in the coal mines and then moved to Arkansas for a short time. He returned to Hanna and worked with the Union Pacific Railroad until he retired in the 1960s. He was married to Julia Robbins on July 18,1977 in Douglas. They spent his retirement years in Glendo.
He is survived by his wife, Julia, of Glendo; four sons, Ralph Campbell of Ohio, Harry Campbell of Florida, Bill Campbell and Russ Campbell; three daughters, Elsie, Mildred and Faye all of Ohio; one sister, Minnie Davis of Ohio; four step-children, Eugene Robbins of Saudi Arabia, Glenna Smith of Laramie, CloAnna Pawling of Laramie and Iva Lee Kahler of Glendo; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, May 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Horseshoe Cemetery in Glendo, with William R.Tylee officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Leo Johnson, Bill Trenholm, Everett Kahler, David Hawkins and Tony Pawling.
A memorial has been established to the Glendo Ambulance Fund. The Schrader-Prell Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
