Douglas Budget - April 19, 1984Funeral services for Larry Lee Carpenter, age 41, were held Sunday, April 15, 1984 at 2 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Douglas, Wyoming, with the Pastor Jim Lilley officiating. Interment was in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
Mr. Carpenter died Thursday, April 12, 1984 at the Natrona County Memorial Hospital in Casper, Wyoming.
Larry Carpenter was born April 8, 1943 in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Marvin and Mary (Claunch) Carpenter. He attended grade school in Scott City, Kansas and Kimball, Nebraska. He attended High School in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He worked at the Sugarbeet Factory at Scottsbluff and later worked in the oilfields in Nebraska and Wyoming.
He married Janice Lair on October 8, 1969 at Julesburg, Colorado. He had been a resident of Douglas since 1969. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents, Marvin and Mary Carpenter of Douglas; two sons, Martin Dean Carpenter of Alliance, Nebraska, and Troy Eugene Carpenter of Grant, Nebraska; paternal grandmother, Harriet Carpenter of Arma, Kansas; one brother, Dean Carpenter of Glendo, Wyoming; numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Gene Carpenter and Donald Eugene Carpenter; maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.
Serving as pallbearers were Dale Biel, Brett Spracklen, Jack Carpenter, Tim Carpenter, Mike Carpenter, and Terry Carpenter.
The Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas was in charge of the arrangements.
