Douglas Budget - August 28, 1980Memorial services for Clexta May Colson, 71, of Casper, will be held at the Congregational Church in Douglas on August 28 at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. Colson died on August 18, 1980 at the Natrona County Memorial Hospital following a month long illness. She was born on Jan. 15, 1909 in Morgan, Oregon and was reared and educated in Oregon. She married Ralph McCormick in Ione, Oregon in 1925 and they ranched until his death. She was later married to Orville Jones and she broke horses and drove a truck for the Army during World War II. After Jones' death she married Harry Hendrickson in 1948 and they owned a lumber trucking business. After Hendrickson's death she was married to Carol M. Colson in 1952 in Walla Walla, Washington.
She is survived by Several children including Keith McCormick of Douglas, Betty Simmons of The Dallas, Oregon; Beverly Ball of Vernonia, Oregon; Dale McCormick of Springfield, Oregon; Dorothy Armstrong of Douglas; Darlene Sullivan of Hawaii; Loren A. Colson of Sheridan as well as several adopted children including Dick and Donna Lowe of Randell, Washington and Billy Crane of Tanquest, Oregon. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands.
Her remains were interred in Baker, Oregon following cremation.
