Robert B. Cross Dies in Idaho
Douglas Budget - October 31, 1918Robert Benjamin Cross, son of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Cross, died at Moscow, Idaho, Monday morning at 12:40 o'clock. His parents were with him when the end came, having hastened to Idaho when news came of his serious illness. He had been at Moscow but a short time, having been one of the volunteers for that training camp who left Douglas on October 16. He was taken ill with influenza shortly after his arrival there, pneumonia developing and causing death.
Robert Cross had lived in Converse county all of his life with the exception of the time that he was away at school. He was born here on June 8, 1894. He was a graduate of the Sacred Heart High School at Denver and later attended the Wyoming State University for a year. Since then he has, with his twin brother, Alexander, been associated with his father in the active management of the extensive ranch property.
Besides his parents he is survived by five sisters and three brothers. The sisters are Mrs. R.D. Hawley, Misses Mary, Alzire, May and Emma; the brothers Alexander, George and William.
Funeral arrangements are not complete and will await the arrival of the body, but interment will be in Douglas. Miss Emma Cross and Robert D. Hawley left yesterday morning for Billings to meet Mr. and Mrs. Cross, who are returning with the body of their son, and who are expected to arrive in Douglas tonight.
