Douglas Budget - October 2, 2002Funeral services for Dale Glen Cromwell, 70, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Community Baptist Church in Glenrock with Pastor Rick Bishop officiating.
Interment will follow in the Glenrock cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post #9 of Glenrock.
Mr. Cromwell died Sept. 28, 2002, at his home in Glenrock after a long illness. He was brave and courageous throughout his illness.
He was born Dec. 8, 1931, in Boxelder Canyon to Warren D. and Louise B. (Hiser) Cromwell. He graduated from Natrona County High School in 1950. He served in the Navy from 1950-71, retiring as a lieutenant.
He married Claire A. Noonan in 1955, and they had a daughter, Roberta (Bobbie) Cromwell Stark, in 1956.
Mr. Cromwell worked at Exxon Uranium Company for 12 years, then went to work for Dave Johnson Power Plant, retiring in 1996.
Mr. Cromwell lived his entire live (sic)life as a generous and giving person and was always there for his family and friends. He enjoyed boating, camping trips, fishing, skiing, hunting and bowling. He especially enjoyed family gatherings and cooking special meals for them. He was past vice president of the Wyoming State Chariot and Cutter Association and acted as a delegate to the World Chariot Association.
Survivors include his daughter, his companion of 17 years, Georgia Hagar, and her children, Shane, Jake and Stacy (Smith) Hagar, and grandsons Austin Smith and Tucker Smith and Brennan Hagar; sisters Sadie Schafer of Colorado and Selina Biart of Texas; two aunts; five nieces; five nephews; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and ex-wife Claire.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Converse County Chariot Racing Association or Central Wyoming Hospice. Bustard's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
