Douglas Budget - March 16, 1967Funeral services for RuVeal Beatrice Cumpston were held in the Episcopal Church at Glenrock, Wyoming March 13 at 2 p.m. The Rev. George Mackey officiated with graveside services and burial in Douglas Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Cumpston died March 9 at Memorial Hospital in Casper after a lingering illness.
RuVeal Beatrice, daughter of Ralph and Emma Tyson Skelton, was born at Milburn, Nebr. July 21, 1917. At the age of twelve, she moved to Douglas and attended school here.
She united in marriage with Lewis Cumpston on July 17, 1936.
Mrs. Cumpston was a member of Episcopal Church, Rebekah Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary, and Women of the Moose.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis, of Glenrock; her son, William Cumpston of the Corps of Army Engineers stationed in Vietnam; her father, Ralph Skelton and his wife, Mary, of Douglas; six sisters, Mrs. Ruby Hall, Butte, Mont.; Mrs. Ruth Ramsey, Broken Bow, Nebr.; Mrs. Rose Zella Ramsey, Colorado; Mrs. Iris Spanel, Anselmo, Nebr., and Mrs. Nadine Bell, Bisbee, Arizona.
Also surviving are six brothers, William Howard, Peoria, Illinois; Victor Howard, Boleus, Nebr.; Ethel Howard, Mason City, Nebr.; ;Ira Howard, Greeley, Colo.; and Franklin Skelton, of the U.S. Navy; and nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Her mother preceded her in death.
Pallbearers were Howard Bailey, Joe Keenan, Merl Graham, Bill Moon, Frank Teeples, and Rex Gates. Honorary pallbearers were Bryan Parks, Bill Lovell, Ted Lewis, Ray Bartells, and Lester Nelson.
Out-of-town relatives attending the services were Mrs. Cloyd Hall; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ramsey; Mrs. Wm. H. Ramsey; Mr. and Mrs. Tony Spanel; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ganow; Riverton; Mrs. George Currey, Lusk; Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Grant, Mr. and Mrs. L.R. Melton, Mrs. Margaret Palmer, all of Thermopolis; Frank Gehrer and Sam Dyer, Casper.
