Douglas Budget - February 19, 1976Funeral services for Queen Collins were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday February 16, 1976 at the Community Church of Glendo. Rev. Clyde Thompson officiated. Interment followed in the Horse Shoe Cemetery.
Mrs. Queen Collins, 87, a Wyoming resident of 60 years passed away Wednesday evening, February 11, at Michael Manor, Douglas, Wyoming. She had been at this convalescent home for several years.
Queen Victoria Collins was born February 5, 1889 in Tascosa, Texas. She later moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma where she met and married George M. Collins, July 23, 1906.
They migrated to Hartville December 1906 and spent 2 years there before settling on their homestead three miles north of Glendo.
George M. Collins, her husband, preceded her in death December 1966, after celebrating a 60th wedding anniversary on July 23, 1966.
She was a member of the Community Church of Glendo.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Jenkins of Ventura, Calif. and Mrs. Una Ann Ryff of Fresno, Calif.
Four sons, Fay Collins of Sunnyvale, Calif., Bill Collins, Robert Collins Jr. all of Glendo also survive. There are 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the Community Church of Glendo.
Pallbearers were Stan Hooley, Clyde Cundall, Lloyd Hughes, Bob Rodieoger, Bill Baxter and Leo Foy.
Stark Lapham Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
