Douglas Budget - May 7, 1981Loren K. Coakley, 76, of Sterling, Colorado, formerly of Douglas, passed away Tuesday, April 28, at the Logan County Hospital. Services were held at the Chaney-Walters Funeral Home, Friday, May 1. Rev. Dennis Sillaman of the Faith United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in the Prairie View Cemetery at Stoneham.
Mr. Coakley was born December 19, 1904 in Fullerton, Nebraska, the son of Loyd and Lelah Jenks Coakley. The family moved to the Mt. Hope community in Colorado in the early 1920s.
On August 3, 1929, he married Lorrain Willich in Torrington, Wyoming. The couple made their home in Wyoming and Nebraska while he worked for the Pacific Power and Light Company. Douglas was their home for 19 years until they moved to Sterling in 1976.
Mr. Coakley is survived by his wife, Lorraine, a daughter Arline Headley of Sterling, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, also a nephew Gale Willich of Hawaii, a niece Carole Quint of Sterling, who made their home with the Coakleys for several years, and four great nieces and nephews.
