Mary Copsey, 86, of 412 Laramie died Monday morning at Box Butte General Hospital in Nebraska.

She was born Sept. 2, 1897 in Wyoming and graduated from Douglas, Wyo., High School. She was a longtime resident of Alliance, a member of the United Methodist Church for over 50 years, a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Copsey was preceded in death by her husband, Vern, and a son, Richard, who was killed in World War II.

She is survived by a daughter, Frances (Mrs. Don) McGrew of Ponca City, Okla.; a granddaughter, Susan of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and a niece, Mrs. James F. Kennedy of Alliance.

Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church on Thursday, Jan. 5, 1984 at 2 p.m. Dr. Darrel Berg officiated, and burial was in the Alliance Cemetery.

Bates-Landa Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
