Hundreds of personal friends throughout central Wyoming heard with sincere sorrow, last week, of the death of Francis W. Cushman, delegate in congress from the state of Washington. He was a Douglas pioneer and in 1886 was teaching a country school in the Springhill district while his mother was principal of the school here the family later removing to Washington and which state Mr. Cushman has represented in congress for the past ten years. He visited Douglas about three years ago, and spent some time here with old friends and acquaintances. During his service he had won fame that was world wide, being known best as "The Abraham Lincoln of the house."
