Douglas Budget - November 18, 1998Funeral services for Mary Hardee Clayton Clough, 76, were Nov. 16 at Christ Episcopal Church in Douglas with Rev. Marion Canterbury officiating and Amanda Mae Clough as the eulogist.
Interment was in the family plot at Douglas Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Clough died unexpectedly Nov. 9 at her home in Douglas.
She was born Sept. 27, 1922, in Douglas to Ernest Mayer and Marie Hardee (King) Clayton. She was reared and educated in Douglas, graduating from Douglas High School. She attended and graduated from the University of Southern California and California Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing.
She was married Feb. 18, 1949, to Albert Aaron Clough in Los Angeles.
She was a loving wife and devoted mother and was a registered nurse both prior to getting married and again for several years before retirement. She was a member of the Douglas Sorority, Klondike Bridge Club, Douglas Community Club, Douglas Nurses' Association, Christ Episcopal Church, Saint Anne's Guild, American Legion Auxiliary and Wyoming Pioneer Association. She was also a Cub Scout den mother for several years.
Her hobbies included star gazing, coin collecting, photo albums and scrapbooks and making colorful sugar Easter eggs.
The activities she enjoyed in her early years were drumming and playing golf.
She also enjoyed playing the piano, reading and gardening.
