Combs, Guy Barrow (Unknown - July 29, 1902)
Bill Barlows Budget - July 30, 1902Guy Barrow Combs, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.B. Combs of this place, aged 14 years, was shot and instantly killed yesterday afternoon at the Richards-Combs sheepcamp on Upper LaPrele. The boy was carrying a 22-calibre target rifle which in some manner was discharged, the ball passing through his head. A herder named Cochran was with him at the time, and both were making their way up a rocky gulch when the accident happened. The body was brought in last night and the funeral will take place from the Congregational church today, at 3 p.m.
Guy Combs was a model boy-a little man in all the term implies-a bright, energetic and trustworthy lad. His death is sincerely regretted by all who knew him. The bereaved father and mother have the sincere sympathy of the entire community.
Laid to Rest
Bill Barlows Budget - August 6, 1902The remains of Guy B. Combs, whose death was recorded last week, were interred in the Park cemetery Wednesday afternoon. The funeral was held at the Congregational church, Rev. Erwin officiating. The floral decorations were the most elaborate over seen here-the church being handsomely decorated with flowers, and the Sunday school-of which deceased was a member-together with friends, contributing wreaths and similar designs of cut flowers. Members of the Sunday school were also selected as pall-bearers.
