Douglas Budget - March 7, 1985Funeral services for Ines Alene Chamberlain, age 88, were held Monday, March 4, 1985 at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Douglas with Pastor Jim Lilley and Pastor George Stepan officiating.
Interment was in the Highland Cemetery at Casper, Monday, March 4, 1985 at 2:30 p.m.
Mrs. Chamberlain died Thursday, Feb. 28, 1985 at her son's home near Douglas following an extended illness.
Ines the daughter of Daniel and Priscilla Wolfgang Weber was born April 11, 1896 at Barneston, Neb. She was reared and educated at Barneston. She taught school at Falls City, Neb. for six years. She was married to Leon Chamberlain at Falls City, Neb. April 30, 1919.
They moved to Casper in 1920 where they farmed for one years, and then Leon started working for Standard Oil. They moved to Glenrock in 1922, where Leon was plant superindendent, and then they moved back to Casper in 1936.
Her husband died in November, 1967, and she remained living in Casper until 1975 at which time she moved to live on her sons' ranch near Douglas because of ill health. She has remained living there until the time of her death.
She is survived by three sons, Roy of Cincinnati, Oh.; Leon, Jr. and Leonard both of Douglas, nine grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
Ines was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, and five sisters.
Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons and grandsons-in-law Leonard E. Chamberlain, Roy Chamberlain, Larry Chamberlain, Leon Chamberlain, Tom Strock, Tom Horn, and Sam Gronning.
An Ines A. Chamberlain memorial fund has been established.
The Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas was in charge of the arrangements.
