Douglas Budget - April 8, 1982Ross D. Clark, age 75, died Tuesday, March 30, 1982 at the Converse County Memorial Hospital.
Ross the son of Walter and Betty Clark was born September 12, 1906 at Sac City, Iowa. He was reared and educated in Sac City, as a young man he moved to Estherville, Ia. It was here he met his wife to be, Eileen Johnson. They were married in Jackson, Minnesota on April 24, 1936. They lived in Des Moines, Ia., a few years, in 1942 they moved to Casper, Wy. He worked as a chef at the Gladstone Hotel, and finally he went to work for the Casper Golf Club as the manager and head chef of the club. They lived in Casper until 1960 when they moved to Douglas, to be the manager and chef of the Douglas Community Club. He retired in 1977 because of ill health, during his retirement years his hobby was working on guns. He and his wife worked side by side in the positions they held.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen, of Douglas, one daughter, Betty Mayo, of Douglas, and three grandsons, Walt, Jr., Michael, and John Mayo all of Douglas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ray and Albert.
A public viewing was held Wednesday, March 31, 1982 and Thursday, April 1, 1982 at the Converse Funeral Chapel.
Cremation was handled at a later time. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established to the Douglas Senior Citizens.
The Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas was in charge of the arrangements.
