Douglas Budget - September 16, 1982Mass was celebrated for native Wyomingite, R.D. (Kelly)Cook, 66, of Worland, Monday, 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church.
The Rev. Cyril Hmelovsky officiated with burial in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
The Rosary was recited Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Veile Mortuary Chapel.
Mr. Cook died Sept. 9, 1982 in Washakie Memorial Hospital.
Born March 14, 1916 in Douglas, he was the son of Louis and Katherine(Crum)Cook. He was raised and educated in Douglas. While in school he was active in athletics. In 1936, he moved to Worland where he played basketball on the town team. He attended the University of Wyoming on a football scholarship.
During World War II, he served in the 115th Cavalry in the U.S. Army and was with the intelligence branch, serving in the European theater.
On Dec. 12, 1942, he married Elizabeth M. Feraud at Vancouver, Wash.
Besides his wife of Worland, he is survived by one daughter JoEllen Deveraux, of Worland; one sister, Mrs. Harold (Catherine) McColl of LaMirada, Calif., and three grandchildren.
Memorials to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Big Horn Enterprises, an adult handicap training school in Thermopolis would be equally appreciated by the family.
