Funeral services for Francis Borella Clausen, age 68, will be Thursday, June 3, at 2 p.m. at the Converse Funeral Chapel in Douglas with the Rev. Dr. Thomas E. Hartshom of the Congregational United Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery, with Samuel Mares American Legion Post #8 conducting military rites.

Mr. Clausen, a life-long resident of Douglas, died June 4 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Cheyenne.

He was born June 27, 1920 in Douglas, the son of Hans and Nellie (Anderson) Clausen. He was reared on the family ranch north of Douglas and also attended Clausen School while on the ranch. He worked the ranch until January 1942 when he joined the United States Navy where he served until the time of his discharge in December 1945. At that time he returned to Douglas and again worked on the ranch.

On April 25, 1961, he married Jenny Hinckley in Casper. He worked mostly at ranching and in the oilfield business. He was a member of Samuel Mares American Legion Post #8. He was an avid hunter and gardener.

He is survived by his wife Jenny Clausen of Douglas; four sons, Everett and Perry Clausen both of Douglas, Hans Clausen of Quitman, Ark., and Ralph Clausen of Texas; two daughters, Nellie Jo Brady of Quitman, and Marilyn Regan of Big Piney; three brothers, Jim Clausen of Douglas, Newt Clausen of Riverton and Arthur Clausen of The Dalles, Ore.; two sisters, Esther Schnoor or Casper, and Marie Jones of Houston, Mo.; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents; one sister, Clara Clausen; and one granddaughter, Stacey Brady.

Serving as pallbearers are Otto Bryson, John Alexander, Bill Miller, Pete Henson, Tom Ricky and Diego Dominquez. Honorary pallbearers are all of his many friends.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Veterans Administration Medical Center-Cancer Unit or the Converse County Cancer Fund would be appreciated by the family.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon.

The Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas is in charge of arrangements.
