Douglas Budget - January 31, 1985Funeral services for Margaret "Peggy" Clifford were held Tuesday, Jan. 29, 1985 at 10:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Duane Simonson officiating. Private interment services were held Wednesday, Jan. 30, 1985 at the Douglas Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Clifford died Saturday, Jan. 26, 1985 at the Converse County Memorial Hospital in Douglas following an extended illness.
Peggy, the daughter of Alexander and Jeanne Hayden Hazlewood, was born July 2, 1945 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was reared and educated in Milwaukee and Minocqua, Wisconsin, graduating from the Lakeland Union High School in Minocquoa in 1963. She attended the University of Wisconsin for several years at various campuses. She was married to Samuel B. Clifford Sept. 13, 1970 at Minocquoa. They lived in Frisco, Colorado from 1970 to 1971, then moved to Leadville, Colorado from 1972 to 1974, and then moved to Casa Grande, Arizona from 1974 to 1977. She also attended Central Arizona College of Nursing while living in Arizona. They then moved to Rockhill, South Carolina in 1977 and then in January, 1979 they moved to Douglas where she resided until the time of her death. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, and she assisted with the Meals on Wheels and other Senior Citizens programs.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Sam, of Douglas; her parents, Jeanne and Alexander Hazlewood, of Minocqua, WI and of Sun Lakes, AZ; son, Brandon H. Clifford and daughter, Jeanne E. Clifford both of Douglas; and sister, Elizabeth Schmallen of Sun Lakes, AZ.
Memorials have been established for the Converse County Hospice Program or to Converse County Memorial Hospital or to the Zion Lutheran Church.
Serving as pallbearers were Rob Thurman, Tom Suchomel. Dave Klinger, Dennis Dammel, Doug Schmid, and Tony Reynolds.
The Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas, Wyoming was in charge of the arrangements.
