Douglas Budget - June 19, 1986Funeral services for Kenneth Blaine Cheney, 34, will be today, Thursday, at 10 a.m. at the Converse Funeral Chapel in Douglas with Pastor David Taylor officiating. Interment will be in the Green Mountain Cemetery in Sundance Thursday at 3:30 p.m. with Terry Bough officiating.
Mr. Cheney died Sunday, June 15, at his home in Douglas following a long illness.
He was born September 27, 1951 in Selma, Calif. to Loys and Verna Metcalf Cheney. He was reared and educated in Sundance. He worked on various ranches and drove truck in South Dakota and Wyoming during his working career.
He moved to Douglas in 1981, and married Sharon Murphy April 11, 1981 at Douglas. Because of ill health he was forced to retire from working in 1982. He was an accomplished guitarist and loved to work with wood.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, of Douglas; his mother and step-father, Ginger and Fred Schulze of Newell, SD; two sons, Jesse of Douglas and Casey of Montana; one daughter, Victoria Cheney of Douglas; two brothers, Glen Schulze of Belle Fourche, S.D. and Jeff Schulze of Aladdin, WY; and two sisters, Cindy Rober of Colony, WY and Lori Schulze of Spearfish, SD.
The Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas was in charge of the arrangements.
