Douglas Budget - May 31, 2006Services for Danny Gean Clay will be held at 2 p.m. June 1 at Gorman Funeral Home Converse Chapel, followed by coffee and snacks at the Plain's dance hall.
Mr. Clay died on May 28, 2006, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.
He was born to Della (McDonald)and Arthur Clay in Polson, Mont., on Dec. 22, 1955. His father died when he was 2, and his mother married Loyd Denney.
In June 1974, he married Lorrie Hemma. They moved to Douglas in 1976. They were divorced in 1980, and Mr. Clay spend the last 17 years with Donna Amen.
He worked for many years of his life as a truck driver, hauling mostly hay and cattle throughout the United States. In his later years, he worked at Northwinds of Wyoming.
Mr. Clay loved to work, fish and hunt, along with spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed drinking coffee in the Plains and telling old hunting and fishing stories.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his stepfather, along with seven of his siblings, Roger Clay, Bobbie Clay, Nels Clay, Kenny Clay, Boner Walters, Claris Hipp and Juanita Epps.
He is survived by his daughters Jacqueline May Clay and Kimberly Marie Himle, stepdaughters, Trista Louise Simpson and Audrey Lee Simpson, stepson Clay Amen; grandchildren Trevor, Justin, Taten, Jazmine, Chance, Mayce and Jaylyn, and 13 siblings, Jim Clay, John Clay, Ron Clay, Ricki Clay, Arnold Compton, David Compton, Ray Compton, Lyod Young, Bonnie Clay, Velma Kuntz, Audrey Marquardt and Charlett Allen.
Mr. Clay will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered at Lookout Point with his best friend, Buzz Widick. His headstone will be placed in Gillette.

The May 31 issue of the Douglas Budget incorrectly identified some relatives of Danne Clay in his obituary. Mr. Clay's mother is Delphia E. and his ex-wife was Lorrie Hemmah. Four of his siblings are Lloyd Young, Charlotte Allen, Rickie Clay and Bonna Dell.
