Douglas Budget - June 20, 2007Funeral services for Mina Georgine "Jean" Cundall, 78, will be held at 10:30 a.m. June 20 at the Episcopal Church of Saint John the Baptist in Glendo, with Jim Wilson officiating.
Mrs. Cundall of Ogallala, Neb., and formerly of Glendo died June 14, 2007, at her residence.
She was born March 25, 1929, in Cheyenne, the daughter of Donald Fred and Mildred Ethel (Wright)Sommers. She grew up in rural Platte County and attended elementary country school. While in high school in Glendo she was the first FHA (Future Homemakers of America) state president in Wyoming.
On June 23, 1946, she married Lee Cundall. The couple ranched east of Glendo, and later in life spent winters in Arizona. After retiring they moved to Ogallala in 1998.
Jean's interests included painting pictures, traveling, reading, flower gardening, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Jean won best of show for an oil painting at the Wyoming State Fair.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Cundall, of Ogallala; her four children, Dan (Kathleen) Cundall of Lyons, Colo.; Larry (Ruthie) Cundall of Glendo; Mark Cundall of Hutto, Texas; and Robin (Rodger) Rankin of Ogallala; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and three siblings, Charlene Quinn of Cheyenne, Connie Britton of Wheatland, and Ronnie Sommers of Elk Grove, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dave Sommers, on May 29, 2007.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Orman Millikin, Jerry Burback, Bob Hytrek, Junior Pollard, Louis Adams, Don Sanborn, and all of her many other friends.
A memorial may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel of Douglas and Draucker Funeral Home of Ogallala are in charge of the arrangements.
