Douglas Budget - September 21, 1988Memorial services for Margaret Josephine Corrington, 78, will be held Saturday, Sept. 24 at 3 p.m. at the Congregational United Church of Christ with Dr. Thomas E. Hartshorn officiating.
Mrs. Corrington died Wednesday, Sept. 14 at Michael Manor.
She was born Aug. 11, 1910 in Douglas, to Loren Elmer and Josephine (Bamford) Robbins. She was reared and educated in Wyoming and Colorado. She graduated from the Fort Collins High School. She then attended nursing school at Children's Hospital in Denver.
In 1930 she and her family moved to the West Indies, where they lived for 15 years. She then returned to Douglas where she pursued her nursing career. She retired in 1962 to her home in Glendo. She has been a resident of Michael Manor for the past two years.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie and Ed Parkin of Glendo; a granddaughter and her husband, Tami and Quin Rasmussen and their sons, Derek and Cade of Helena, Mont.; a granddaughter and her husband, Karen and Bart Jones and their children, Shannon and Shane of Vandenburg, Calif.; a grandson Spencer Parkin presently stationed in Okinawa; and a sister, Evelyn Couch of Glendo and her children, Jack Couch and Beverly Hamilton.
A memorial to the Douglas Senior Citizen's or to Michael Manor would be appreciated by the family.
Family and friends are invited to the Douglas Senior Citizens following the memorial service for coffee and snacks.
