Norton Virgil Corn, 75, of Douglas, died July 2, 1990 at the V.A. Medical Center in Sheridan, Wyo.

Mr. Corn was born May 11, 1915 in Macon, N.C., the son of Lee and Flora Corn. He grew up and attended school in North Carolina.

He was married to Maxine Norton on Aug. 6, 1938 in Clayton, Ga. where they made their home for 14 years. In 1952 the couple came to Wyoming.

Mr. Corn served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war he spent most of his life farming and ranching. He had a zest for living and took great pleasure in gardening, tinkering with machinery, and creating many wild zany inventions to the delight of his family. He also enjoyed fishing and camping. His humor and uncomplaining ways will be greatly missed by his loved ones.

Survivors include his wife Maxine, of Douglas; one son Bruce Corn, Moab, Utah; two daughters, Kathy Phillips of Littleton, Colo., Toni Grant of Dayton, Wyo.; five sisters, Bessie Corn of Calif., Virgie Crunkiton, New York, Bertie Holt of Virginia, Maxie Lee Carpenter of Sylvia, N.C., Bonnie Dean of Franklin, N.C. 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Services were Monday, July 30, 1990, at Champion Funeral Home in Sheridan with Dr. Charles Gifford officiating. Interment was in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
