Douglas Budget - March 7, 1990Funeral services for Wick W. Carr, 87, were held Monday, March 5, at the Glendo Community Church with the Rev. Jon Laughlin of the First United Methodist Church in Douglas officiating.
Interment was in the Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche, S.D. on Tuesday, March 6, with Pastor Walt Nichol of First Baptist Church in Belle Fourche officiating.
Mr. Carr died Friday, March 2, 1990 at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland following a short illness.
He was born Aug. 14, 1902 in Maryville, Mo., the son of Alonzo and Mary (Cunningham) Carr. He was reared and educated in Maryville and Hamilton, Mo. At the age of 18 he came to Wyoming and began ranching near Mona, Wyo.
He was married to Margaret Cremeens on Oct. 13, 1928 in Rapid City, S.D. They continued to live on the ranch until his retirement in 1976, at which time they moved to Belle Fourche. In 1986 they moved to Glendo and resided there until the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, of Glendo; four children, Frank L. Carr of Lewistown, Mont., C.H. Lee Carr of Mona, Wyo., Ruth Ann Collins and Mary Ann Smathers both of Glendo; two sisters, Thelma Paasch of Wolf Point, Mont. and Reid Bell of Camas, Wash.; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 14 brothers and sisters; and one granddaughter.
Serving as pallbearers were Woody Collins, Kenny Collins, Casey Collins, Guy Carr, Allen Cowardin, and Bob Patterson.
A memorial to the Glendo Ambulance Fund would be appreciated by the family.
The Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas and Frost and Sons Funeral Home of Belle Fourche were in charge of the arrangements.
