Douglas Budget - September 17, 1987Funeral services for Danice "Stringbean" Glenn Chaffin, 34, were held Monday at the Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Dan Hickman and the Rev. Cliff Scheline officiating. Interment was in the Douglas Park Cemetery. Mr. Chaffin died at his home in Guerneville, Calif. on Sept. 3, 1987.
He was born Aug. 18, 1953 in Akron, Colo., the son of Robert G. and Nelda F. (Harn) Chaffin. He was reared and educated at Thornton, Colo., graduating from high school in 1972. Mr. Chaffin was a certified motorcycle mechanic and journeyman carpenter for the past 15 years. He worked at various jobs in Colorado, Wyoming, and the past three years in California.
Mr. Chaffin also operated a motorcycle repair shop for 12 years. He was married to Debra Kirkbride on Dec. 18, 1978 at Ethete, on the Wind River Indian Reservation.
Mr. Chaffin was a member of the Assembly of God Church, and was the founder of the CB Club in Douglas in 1970's.
He is survived by his wife of Douglas; one son, Jonathan Robert Chaffin of Douglas; five daughters, Robyn, Stefanie, Melissa, Heather, and Kimberly Chaffin all of Douglas; his parents of Mobridge, S.D.; one step-son, Daniel Leimone of Douglas; and one step-daughter, Christina Leimone of Phoenix.
Serving as pallbearers were John McIntosh, John Needham, Jesse Roediger, Robert Curtis, Richard Kuhn, and Gordon Smith.
A memorial to the Dan Chaffin family in care of the First Wyoming Bank in Douglas would be appreciated.
The Converse Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
