Douglas Budget - August 14, 1991Funeral services for Frances Ruth Simonton Creason, 69, were held Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the Converse Funeral Chapel with Pastor Homer Ford of the Trinity Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Creason died Saturday, August 10, 1991 at Michael manor in Douglas following a short illness.
She was born Nov. 24, 1921 at Griswold, Iowa the daughter of William and Blanche Burnside. She was reared and educated in Iowa, graduating from the Lewis High School in Lewis, Iowa.
She was married to Glen Simonton in Lewis, Iowa on Jan. 27, 1940. They moved to Oklahoma for seven years, and then came back to Iowa. In 1960 they moved to Wyoming, and then to Missouri.
Glen died Nov. 24, 1976, and then she was married to Kenneth Creason in 1977 in Anderson, Mo. Kenneth died in 1989. She moved to Douglas on May 15, 1990, to be near her son, living in the Payne Plaza. The past five weeks she resided in Michael Manor.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She taught ceramics to fellow senior citizens, and helped in teaching other craft classes.
She is survived by her children, Virginia Delgado of Pinedale, Wyo., and Kenny Simonton of Douglas; seven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; and one brother, Clifford Burnside.
Serving as pallbearers were Richard Simonton, Paul Simonton, Kelly Simonton, Brett Larson, Ryan Cathcart, and Randy Cathcart.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were her other grandchildren and her many friends.
Donations to the Douglas Senior Citizens Center in memory of Frances would be appreciated by the family.
The Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas was in charge of the arrangements.
