Douglas Budget - January 10, 2002Funeral services for Pauline J. Couplens, 72, were held Jan. 14 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Casper with Fr. Michael Carr officiating.
Inurnment was at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery.
Mrs. Coupens died Jan. 10 at Central Wyoming Hospice. She was born Nov. 8, 1929, in Alliance, Neb., to Manford John and Eolyn Otella (Boone) Yardley.
She grew up in Douglas and Glenrock and, for six years, taught at rural schools, including Natural Bridge, Prairie Center, Manville and near Alliance.
She married Robert Coupens on July 15, 1951, at Alliance. They moved to Casper in 1957. She worked at First Interstate Bank for 30 years and was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. She loved being with family and friends and taking care of her home. She did needle-point and collected clocks and plates.
Survivors include her husband Robert of Casper; son Neil Coupens of Casper; daughters Carla Schlager of Thermopolis and Dixie Zink of Ft. Collins; sisters Helen Batton and Lenore Lore, both of Douglas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
