Sidney S. Cronk War Veteran Dies
Douglas Budget - June 18, 1936Sidney S. Cronk, of Orpha, a veteran of the World War, died at the veterans' hospital at Cheyenne Tuesday. He was taken to the hospital last Friday by Frank Schmidt. Death followed an operation.
Sidney S. Cronk was born at Effingham, Ill., August 4, 1871, son of William and Eliza Cronk. He enlisted in the World War as a blacksmith. After the war he homesteaded about 20 miles north of Orpha.
He was married to Iva Rhodes at Kiowa, Colo., November 6, 1933. They made their home at Deertail, Colo., until April 1, 1934, when they came to Wyoming. Besides his wife he is survived by an aunt, Mrs. L.W. Loy, three sisters, Mrs. B.E. Loy, Mrs. E.R. Green and Mrs. Frank McKinnon, all of Effingham, Ill., and a brother, R.W. Cronk.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 at the Hofmann Chapel, Rev. J.M. Falconer being the officiating minister. Burial was in the Douglas cemetery.
