Douglas Budget - August 28, 1986Services for Earl R. Christianson, 70, who died in Wheatland Aug. 23, were held Tuesday in the Glendo Community Church with Pastor Randy Golter officiating.
Born in Omaha, NE, June 18, 1916, he was the son of Charles and Mamie (Hyatt) Christianson. He was reared and educated in Mitchell, NE. He and Pauline Schwartzkopf were married in Rushville, NE, May 17, 1942.
He entered the U.S. Army in August of 1942 and was discharged June 22, 1945. After being discharged he began farming in Nebraska then worked in ranching on the Buzzard Ranch near Alcova and Palm Livestock near Elk Mountain. He became a used furniture dealer in Rawlins, retiring in 1965 due to ill health.
He moved to Glendo in 1975 where he remained until the time of his death. He was an avid fisherman and football fan.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wheatland, the VFW in Rawlins, and the American Legion, Post No. 15 in Glendo.
Besides his wife Pauline of Glendo he is survived by a son, Charles Christianson of Los Angeles, Calif., three daughters; Jacqueline Ebey of Douglas, Beverly Kulisz of Greybull, Helen Kuhl of Mills, a brother, Ben Christianson of Gering, Nebraska, and ten grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and sister.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Glendo Ambulance Fund.
Burial was in the Horseshoe Cemetery in Glendo.
Schrader-Prell Funeral Home of Glendo was in charge of arrangements.
