Mrs. Campbell died peacefully with family by her side at Wyoming Medical Center on April 16, 2005, after a fight with cancer.

She was born on Feb. 24, 1938, in Newcastle to Edgar T. and Thelma (Frazier) Jones. She was raised on the family ranch in Newcastle and graduated from Newcastle High School. On Nov. 29, 1957, she eloped with her husband of 47 years, John C. Campbell, in Billings, Mont. Her honeymoon was spent in a Denver Hospital as she underwent only the second heart surgery ever done there and was a pioneer for the field.

Mrs. Campbell worked as a customer rep for Mountain Bell, vice president of First National Bank of Glenrock, clerk at Williams Town and Country, owner and operator of her catering service and secretary at Valentine Construction. For many years and until the time of her passing, she worked with her wonderful friends at the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality.

She was fond of cooking, knitting, horse racing, rodeos, being with her pets and watching birds. Her biggest love in life was her family and friends. While her life was short, it was good. She was a kind, gentle, hardworking soul who asked for little and gave her all. She will long be remembered for her zest for life and her unique ability to touch the lives of others.

Mrs. Campbell is survived by her husband; children Kevin Campbell and his wife of Glenrock and Joleen "Snooky" Campbell of Glenrock; sister Doris "Mickey" Douglas and her husband of Lander; ;three grandchildren; several stepsisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; and a host of friends.

The family requests donations be sent to the American Cancer Society, Box 1207, Casper 82602, or left at Bustard's Funeral Home and Crematory, which is in charge of arrangements.
