Cremation has taken place.
Mrs. Christman died March 13 following a lengthy battle with cancer at her daughter's home and under hospice care in Douglas.
She was born Sept. 21, 1923, in McFarland, Calif., to George and Minerva (Hylton) Cartwright.
She was raised in the Stockton, Calif., area and after graduating from high school she attended beautician school at Walla Walla, Wash.
On Sept. 22, 1944, she married Willis Christman at Carson City, Nev. After his discharge from the Navy, the couple moved to Wyoming and eventually settled in Riverton, where they lived until Mr. Christman retired. They moved to Thermopolis and, after her husband's death in 1986, Mrs. Christman moved several times before settling in Casper.
She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witness on July 2, 1949, and was a zealous minister for more than 50 years. This was her greatest joy.
In addition to her ministry, she loved to play the piano, sing, dance and travel. She was a very hardy worker and was known for being hospitable and always ready to help others.
She is survived by her son David N. Christman of Lander; daughter Peggy L. Wilkerson of Douglas; sisters Georgia Bowman of Railroad Flat, Calif., and Margie Wetzel of Stockton; four grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother; two sisters; and a great-grandson.
Memorials to the World Wide Work of Jehovah's Witnesses, in care of Peggy Wilkerson, 620 Birch, Douglas, or to Memorial Hospital of Converse County Hospice Program, 111 S. Fifth Street, Douglas, would be appreciated by the family. Converse Funeral home of Douglas is in charge of arrangements.
