Mary Jane Carson
Douglas Budget - December 5, 2001Memorial services for Mary Jane Carson, 63, will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 5 at Converse Funeral Chapel in Douglas.
Mrs. Carson died Dec. 1 in Casper following an extended illness.
She was born in Dowagiac, Mich., April 23, 1938, to Joseph and Alice DeCock. The family moved to Harlowton, Mont., in 1939 and in 1945 moved to a ranch out of Melville, Mont., where Mary grew up.
She attended grade school in Melville and graduated from Sweetgrass County High School in Big Timber, Mont. She earned her beautician license in Billings.
She married Dale Carson of Bill in 1961. They lived on Dale's family ranch where she was a faithful right hand to her husband and the bookkeeper for the ranching operations.
Although they had no children, her knack for nurturing was increased as she had many pets, including bum lambs, cats, dogs and even some cottontail rabbits. Her favorite hobby for many years was doing plastic canvas projects, which she shared with many friends and loved ones.
Mrs. Carson is survived by her mother, Alice DeCock of Melville; husband Dale Carson of Bill; brothers Robert and John and wife Linda, all of Melville; and niece and nephews Dean DeCock and Sara DeCock of Bozeman, and Greg Phillips Hild of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph DeCock.
Memorials to the Douglas Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 192, Douglas, would be appreciated by the family.
Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas is in charge of arrangements.
