Mrs. Cress Dies
Bill Barlows Budget - September 6, 1911Mrs. Sadie Kress died last Thursday evening at 10:30 o'clock following an illness of but two days. The cause of death was the accidental drinking of wood alcohol, mistaking it for medicine, as stated in last week's Budget.
Mrs. Kress was born at Carthage, Illinois, fifty-two years ago; and during her entire life has been beloved by all who knew her. Kind hearted and generous, Mrs. Kress has made many friends in Douglas during the years she has resided here. The deceased made her home with B.E. Cress, her son who is manager of the Metcalf Mercantile company. Two children were unable to be present at the funeral, but Elza Cress came from his home in Chicago. A daughter is Mrs. James Greer of this city.
Funeral services were conducted at the residence on Fifth Street, by Rev. F.A. High, the remains being buried in Park cemetery.
